August 2008

As winter ends the horse stud is gearing up for a busy time. 

Students are eagerly awaiting foals, with the first one due on August 17^th.  We expect to foal down well over 20 mares in 2008.  The stallions are waiting in the wings as breeding starts on September 1^st. 

 The second year students are busy training 4 thoroughbreds and 1 standardbred.  They are utilising College facilities, including the treadmill and will take them to the racetrack for further training late August and September.
